Connecting Health Care to Health Outcomes

Clinicians are powerful and distinctive leaders in advancing public awareness, policy development, and clinical practice around complex issues that impact health, like homelessness. Genesis Health Consulting partnered with a regional medical society to develop a multi-phase strategic framework to eliminate homelessness as a contributor to poor health of residents in a major metropolitan area.

Over three months, we facilitated dialogue and learning amongst local clinicians, policymakers, service organizations, and community members to identify the most pressing needs and promising investments related to health and homelessness for area residents, and match those needs and opportunities with physician-identified and physician-led tactics and investments. The outcome is a realistic, meaningful, and measurable strategic plan that reflects the unique capacity of local physicians to improve the housing security of their patients.
